Temple Ad Club (TAC)
Who We Are
The Temple Ad Club (TAC) is an organization that promotes advertising awareness among Temple University students. Through education and hands-on experience, we promote the role that advertising plays in our everyday lives. We study its growing power and effect in the ever-expanding “real world,” while giving driven students of all majors the chance to express and explore their creativity.
TAC is a member of the American Advertising Federation, and its members are provided with many opportunities to meet advertising agencies and their employees, as well as many other communication associates, in professional environments. Through this interaction, students gain the ability to earn internships, acquire career placement and learn valuable networking skills they need throughout their lives.
One of the most active clubs on campus, TAC is involved in all aspects of advertising for other Temple organizations. We pride ourselves on having a strong sense of compassion, and constantly giving back to our educational community through drives and fundraisers around campus. We believe that helping those around us is not only a résumé-builder, but also a way of life.
What We Do
As an advertising club, we study and practice the business of building brands. Through weekly meetings and projects we learn the importance of advertising and how it relates to our lives. We study the process of advertising in both the planning and execution stages, and learn the importance of all aspects of advertising, from research and strategy to writing and design.
These ideals are then brought to life and executed through campaigns and events. Whether planning dinners, fundraisers, guerilla advertising events or anything in between, we use the knowledge we have gained to create and inform our audiences. From dodgeball tournaments to weekly brainstorm sessions, to trips to Washington, D.C., we embody the concept of advertising. We also use our knowledge and skills to promote and assist other campus organizations.
About the American Advertising Federation
The American Advertising Federation is the most established advertising association in the U.S. With more than 50,000 members and 400 chapters across the country, the federation serves to protect and promote the well-being of advertising. They promote what has come to be known as “the business of brand building” and educate current and future leaders of the industry.
