Emerge is an annual publication, curated by Professors Laura Zaylea and Adrienne Shaw, of interactive and new media work created by media studies and production students.
Established in 1988, Temple Update is a weekly, 30-minute news program produced by student volunteers and the News Production Practicum class. It covers news from the campus and the greater Temple community as well as entertainment, sports and weather
The program won the NATAS Mid-Atlantic Emmy award for Outstanding Achievement, College/University Student Production-Newscast in 2011 and 2016, and was nominated again for the award in 2012 and 2013. It was also the winner of the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 MSP Award for Best Studio/On-Location Production and its site, templeupdate.com, also won best website category in the 2016.
