Minor in Leadership
The Leadership Minor provides students with opportunities to prepare for life after graduation by acquiring the knowledge and the skills required to communicate effectively and to lead at the individual, organizational and team levels.
The goal of a Minor in Leadership is to help students understand that leadership is a communication and a relational process, not a position. It requires responsible, thoughtful reflection and action at all social levels. It also requires self-awareness in leading with the intent to create positive change, making ethical decisions and managing teams.
The Leadership Minor prepares students for internships and careers in the following industries, among many others.
- Campaign manager
- Community outreach and development
- Communication consulting
- Corporate strategic planning
- Fundraising and event planning
- Human resource training and development
- Public relations
- Startup strategic planning
