Minor in Public Relations
The Public Relations minor in Klein College of Media and Communication helps students understand that public relations is a communication and relational process, not a position. As a form of marketing communications, public relations requires
- oral and written communication skills,
- ethical actions and decision-making.
- understanding audiences, and
- using communications tools to negotiate for mutual benefit.
This program builds knowledge and skills for students to understand public relations, including meaningful dialogue built on mutual trust and respect. Students learn to effectively formulate a position and influence and empower others. Students who graduate with minors in PR will be able to use the knowledge they gain to bridge the divide between the theoretical and the practical applications in any businesses or communities they serve in the future.
