Klein College Academic Advising
Academic advising is a resource available to all undergraduate students in Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication. Our academic advisors—Brian, Candice, Cat, Diana, Janet, Lauren, Mary Beth and Shani—keep students on track and in the appropriate courses for their majors.
Academic advisors see new students during New Student Orientation, advising students throughout their educational career at Klein College, and help them with preparations for graduation.
Another way the staff supports first-year students is through Freshman Seminar, a one-credit course that covers topics such as study skills, test-taking strategies, time management and other tips for academic success. It also discusses Temple’s support services, like career development, counseling services, financial aid and student health services.
Walk-in advising, where advisors help students with any and all registration issues for that particular semester, takes place the first two weeks of the semester. Express advising—15-minute sessions during which advisors answer routine questions—are available throughout the rest of the semester. For more in-depth, personalized assistance, students may make appointments.
For individual student questions related to advising, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
