Hands-on Learning

Hands-on Learning

Hands-on learning allows students to develop new skills while engaging their senses and take part in experiences that prepare them for life after Temple and help them on their career paths. From community-based activities to internships to student-run organizations, Klein College of Media and Communication provides numerous experiential learning opportunities—allowing students to get the most out of their time at Temple.

A Global Network

Students in Klein College have unique, interactive learning and networking opportunities so they broaden their horizons and expand their professional connections. Participating in events in the heart of Philadelphia and study abroad opportunities across the globe—including participating in one of the top programs at Temple’s Japan campus—enable students to enhance their marketability in their fields, support their personal growth and make the most out of their education.

Additionally, students are able to connect with faculty members and professionals in the workforce through networking events. Held both in person and in virtual forums, these events allow students to cultivate lifelong relationships with industry experts that continue long after they’ve left Temple and throughout their careers.

Student-run Organizations

Joining one of our growing number of student organizations can impact your career and college experience in meaningful ways. You’ll encounter scenarios that prepare you to pursue related careers after you graduate through our student-run advertising agency, newspapers and talk shows.

By participating in a student organization, not only will you learn how to work with a team, you’ll also gain access to exciting projects, peer support, and valuable experiential learning and networking opportunities.

Internships

Klein College offers specialized, career-related programming to our students. Through Klein Connect, our exclusive internship and job portal, students can view a list of current opportunities to help prepare them for their future careers. Klein strongly encourages students to participate in internships and apply the skills and knowledge they learned in their degree programs to a fast-paced work environment.

As a student at Klein College, you could work with businesses on a public relations strategy, go out on a live shoot for a news broadcast, or even attend and showcase your work at a film festival. When you come together as a team and collaborate with diverse, creative minds, the possibilities are endless.

Student Blog

In addition to gaining experiential learning experiences throughout your time at Temple, as a Klein student, you also have the opportunity to share these experiences with your peers. Advertising students created AdLib, a blog about books, events, internships and experiences that add depth to their classroom education. Additionally, students in Klein’s Global Internship program created the Multimedia Blog, home to student blogs and multimedia content that documents their experiences away or abroad.

The Latest is a student-run newsletter where Klein College students share successes, stories and tips, as well as update each other on upcoming events, news, scholarships, student organizations, study abroad opportunities and more.
