Summer of 2018: Dublin

During the summer of 2018, students will take classes on the historic All Hallows Campus of Dublin City University. All Hallows is a campus with spectacular architecture and quaint atmosphere and plenty of green space for studying. Students will reside in on-campus housing within walking distance of their classroom environment. Students will have a short busride to the city centre, providing easy access to all that Dublin has to offer.

Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to explore the heart of Dublin as well as the rest of the island, including excursions to Northern Ireland.

Summer of 2017 – South Africa

This past summer, participants split their 4 weeks in South Africa between two urban centers: Johannesburg and Cape Town. During the first two weeks, students focused on Johannesburg, the largest urban area within the country. Home to 14 million people, Johannesburg is the financial hub of South Africa and most of the continent of Africa. Students used the city as a platform focusing on the townships, social entrepreneurship and apartheid’s legacy on the country.

After moving on to Cape Town, students hiked Table Mountain, using the vantage point to take in the gorgeous landscape of the city and the ocean. They were able to experience urban farming in the city and learned about the cultural melting pot of the area, with a cooking lesson on traditional Indian food in the Bo Kaap neighborhood.
