Biography

Abdullah Almalki is a Ph.D. candidate in Media and Communication at Temple University from Saudi Arabia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication - Public Relation from Umm Al-Qura University and a master’s degree in Journalism from Arkansas State University. The main focus of his research encompasses two main issues: social media and journalistic professionalism. He is interested in investigating the nature of media systems and their influences on the welfare of both news producers and news consumers in different societies in the era of social media. At this stage, he is investigating the relationship between news consumers (human agents) and media systems (structures) in order to provide a greater understanding of the relationship between the media environment and news consumers’
