How do I apply to graduate?

All potential graduates should apply to graduate by February 1.

*Applying to graduate is an Office of the University Registrar (OUR) procedure. This alerts the OUR of a student’s intention to complete their degree. This is a separate process from RSVPing to the Klein Graduation Ceremony and/or Commencement Ceremony.

      1. Log into TUportal.
      2. Click on Student Tools near the top of the page.

Students must reach at least 124 credits, have a GPA of 2.0 or above and successfully complete all majorand general education requirements with passing grades.

Am I on track to graduate?

Students should have received an email in January confirming OR denying that they are on track to graduate from one of the following advisors: Rob Dearden, Bea Fernandez, Kendra Johnson, Elliot Rouse or Associate Director Mary Beth Flynn.

If you did not receive this email and are unsure if you meet the requirements to graduate, please make an appointment with your assigned advisor via the Student Tools tab on the TUportal.

What does my graduation status mean?
      • Once students apply to graduate, they will see a PENDING graduation status until final grades are submitted 2-3 weeks after the ceremony and after advisors have reviewed graduation applications. The unsuccessful completion of a course requirement can change your graduation status.
      • If there are any issues with your graduation status, Klein's academic advising office will notify you via email. Please be sure to check your email throughout the month of May.
How will my name appear on my diploma?
      • The academic name is the name that will be displayed on the diploma. Students can view their diploma names here
      • Students can submit diploma name change requests on TUcredentials by clicking the Name Change Form button. A copy of government-issued identification showing the student’s full legal name is required.
