Engaged Journalism Exchange

The Engaged Journalism Exchange is an ongoing series of digital and in-person gatherings launched in 2019 to bridge the gap between journalism scholars, practitioners, and funders. Founded by Andrea Wenzel (Temple University) and Jacob Nelson (University of Utah), the Exchange fosters collaboration and dialogue around shared challenges in journalism, such as objectivity, racism in newsrooms, community engagement, and journalism education. Each event centers on a theme and brings together researchers, journalists, and intermediaries to exchange ideas and build partnerships that strengthen both journalism research and practice.
