The Center for Community-Engaged Media supports research-based community journalism projects and other initiatives aligned with our goals of supporting more informed and connected communities. 

CCEM faculty have previously developed research-based initiatives that grew into independent civic media projects, such as the Germantown Info Hub, Kensington Voice, and the Philly-Afghan Info Hub. We have also collaborated with community partners on projects, such as DayOneNotDayTwo’s Community AF project. We continue to collaborate with partners in the Philadelphia region, exploring the information needs of communities.  

We are also now home to another major project, the Philadelphia Journalism Collaborative.
