Biography

Mary Beth has been affiliated with Temple as far back as 1982 after she earned her BA in communication arts from Villanova University, where she was expertly advised by a Temple and Klein alum. She attributes her love of Temple and advising to that experience.

She took graduate courses in speech pathology at Temple, and after her work life took a few twists and turns through the worlds of customer service, sales and advertising, returned to Temple for her MA in rhetoric and communication. A summer internship in that program turned into a career as a trainer in conflict resolution and mediation.

In addition to working an adjunct instructor at Temple, West Chester and Community College of Philadelphia, Mary Beth earned her Pennsylvania Secondary Teaching Certification from Villanova in communication, and then taught high school English in Philadelphia prior to returning to Temple as an academic advisor in 2005.

Mary Beth currently serves as one of two assistant directors for Klein Advising. Her focus is on new student orientation, reenrolling students who have left and wish to return, and assisting students with academic probation and recovery. She is also one Klein's transfer experts.
