BIOGRAPHY
Paul Gluck, associate professor of practice in the Klein College Media Studies & Production Department, is an award-winning, multimedia content production professional.
In a career spanning over four decades, Gluck has managed broadcast newsrooms, media production platforms, along with TV and radio stations, before transitioning to the academic world.
In his native Philadelphia area, Gluck has served as director of news at WCAU-TV and KYW-TV, and VP/station manager of WHYY, INC. In addition to having consulted major local and national media organizations, Gluck is a still freelance content producer and consultant.
Gluck has covered major, global stories, from 9/11 to the pandemic to the 2015 Papal visit, to the 2000 RNC and 2016 DNC conventions. He supervised LIVE coverage of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s debut concert at the Kimmel Center and a national series of interviews focusing on the US Constitution featuring three former US presidents.
As the founding general manager of TUTV - Temple University Television and its home facility , the Kal and Lucille Rudman Media Production Center, Gluck helped to launch the university’s student-run television channel and its associated online and social media platforms.
In his new role as faculty advisor to TUTV, Gluck works with students, staff, faculty, administration and alumni on original content development across a variety of media platforms. He also consults on planning of the new TUTV studios in the new Klein College building.
Gluck is honored to have served as the president of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and as a national trustee of the academy. Gluck is a current regional NATAS board member and Chairs the Scholarship Committee of the Philadelphia Broadcast Pioneers, while working with that group on the preservation of vintage television and radio programming. Gluck has judged the RTDNA Murrow awards. Gluck is also an active Temple alum.
