For the first time in its history, OwlSports Update (OSU) has a dedicated travel fund to expand opportunities for student journalists to cover Temple sporting events.
OwlSports Update on the Move was established through the generosity of former OSU anchor Tom Monfiletto (KLN '11) with support from the Lieberman Foundation. Tom, now director of marketing and communications at The Hun School of Princeton, created the fund to give back to the program that helped launch his career.
This five-year commitment enables OwlSports Update students to travel to select games and events across the country, enhancing the program's award-winning coverage while providing students with invaluable hands-on reporting experience. These opportunities also allow students to build stronger professional portfolios and demo reels, helping prepare them for successful careers in sports media.
Additional support from alumni, parents, and friends will help expand these opportunities for future generations of Klein students.
