Dr. Christen Buckley is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication. She joined Temple in 2025 after serving as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. Her research focuses on the intersection of public relations, ethics, and emerging media. Her areas of expertise include: corporate social advocacy and stakeholder response, nonprofit and public interest communication, and ethical and strategic communication in digital environments. Her work has been published in leading journals including Public Relations Review, Sustainability, and the Journal of Product & Brand Management, amongst others. Dr. Buckley has presented her research at national and international conferences and has contributed to public discussions on topics such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, AI in communication, and corporate ethics.
Buckley earned her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State University in 2023. Before entering academia, she worked as a digital media strategist at Sanky Communications in New York City, leading integrated campaigns for mission-driven organizations. Her professional experience includes data-driven strategy, multi-channel fundraising, and public interest communication.
