Doh-Yeon Kim’s research centers on the intersection of media, culture, and space, building on critical cultural theory and media historiography. She is particularly interested in examining how screen technologies evolve and interact with cultural spaces/places, and how these dynamics (re)construct our experiences with screen-based media. Doh-Yeon also draws from cinema studies and urban studies to consider how moving images and urban environments shape one another.

Doh-Yeon holds a master’s degree in Communication from Seoul National University and a dual bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Communication from Chungnam National University.
