Name: Edward Warchol, Jr.

Graduation Year: 1979

Major: School of Communications and Theater

Occupation, Company: CEO of Cherry Hill Programs

Describe your current occupation and if applicable, how was Temple the launchpad for your current position?
Currently Retired. Verbal and written communication skills are two of the most valuable assets of a CEO. Temple’s School of Communications taught me both.

Why do you support Temple University and serve on the Klein Alumni Association Board?
I want to be an asset for Temple and Klein College in helping to strengthen the relationship between the alumni and the University. I believe that is something that I can do based on my past experience in the business world.

What excites you about the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication?
I was a first generation student when I entered Temple’s School of Communications and Theater in 1975. The fact that it was one of the best in the country then and remains so today is pretty incredible, and it is exciting for me to be a part of it and contribute to its continued success.

What advice could you give someone looking to become more engaged with Klein College?
I would give the same advice that someone gave me many years ago-start making connections by doing things that will introduce you to others in Klein College. As you start making connections, you become more involved. For me, it was going to WRTI’s sports director and asking for a chance to do something at the station.

What was your favorite memory while a student at Temple?
My favorite memory was working at WRTI and broadcasting football and basketball games. I came from a very small town in South Jersey, and to be able to meet so many sports personalities as a result of doing that was something I will always remember.

Describe KLN students in one word: Perseverant.
