Gabi Pfeiffer’s (they/them/theirs) research focuses on the intersections of media, identity, and representation, with an interest in lesbian entertainment media. Utilizing critical methodologies, they interrogate the power structures and ideologies that underlie how marginalized identities are represented in popular culture. Gabi’s research hopes their research will open the door for broader queer representation so that young queer people can grow up seeing themselves on screen. 

Gabi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor focus in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Communication from the University of South Florida
