Biography

Hey! I'm Jarred and I am entering my junior year at Temple as a Journalism major. I'm currently involved in The Temple News as a freelance news writer, and I'm looking into engaging with magazine work as well as opportunities abroad, such as Study Abroad and Klein GO. My favorite thing about being an Owl is definitely the sense of community here- I don't think I have ever walked through campus without seeing someone I know! Having a large and diverse student body on a smaller, more compact campus facilitates so much networking and allows for more generic relationships, such as neighbors or classmates, to evolve into far more meaningful connections. My biggest takeaway from freshman year that I would love to share with first-year students: rip the bandaid off and GET INVOLVED! Once you get the ball rolling, everything becomes so much more accessible and it truly is the easiest way to meet people who you'll probably see in plenty of other classes and clubs throughout your college experience.
