Biography

Natalia Rabahi is a Lebanese-Brazilian PhD student. Her current research focuses on the mediated relationship between Lebanese diaspora in Brazil and their homeland, while also focusing on representation of Lebanon and the Lebanese in media. She holds a master of arts degree in mass communication from the University of Balamand in Lebanon and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Pontifical Catholic University of Goias, in Brazil. Ms. Rabahi has a deep understanding of cross-cultural media and journalistic media practices; she has worked in broadcast television, radio news, social media management and as an international correspondent in Beirut. She has also taught undergraduate courses in mass communication at the University of Balamand, giving her insight into media teaching and challenging her to search for new ways of engaging a new generation of media students.
