Biography
Taheerah N. Sabb possesses over 25 years of experience as an information technology and information systems specialist. Her educational achievements awarded her a Bachelor of Arts from Central High School in Philadelphia, a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Science from Temple University College of Science and Technology, and a Master of Science in Health Informatics from Temple University College of Public Health. Additionally, she earned postgraduate certifications as a Certified Professional in Health Informatics (AHIMA), and a Certified Institutional Review Board Social and Behavioral Human Researcher (CITI). Taheerah’s research interests span information and communications technology, sound studies, ethnomusicology, artificial intelligence, cultural analytics, and memory studies. Exploring theories of representation, semiotics, and cultural production, she examines the power that media and music technologies have in shaping the behavior, culture, and narratives of communities across the African Diaspora. Through her scholarship, Taheerah aims to bridge the gaps between academia, industry, and community, while showcasing the importance of multimedia storytelling as a historical, social, political, and cultural communication tool for liberation.
