Biography

Whitney Carroll is an administrator and researcher in higher education who focuses on gender issues in the workplace, college student development and institutional effectiveness. She grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and has been at Temple University since 2014. She previously worked as an academic advisor in graduate affairs and as a high school English teacher.  

Carroll completed her BA in american studies at Penn State University and her MEd in urban education at Alvernia University. She earned her doctor of education in higher education at Temple University’s College of Education and Human Development in 2019. Her dissertation focused on "Perceptions of Subtle Sexism in the Higher Education Workplace."

Carroll is an adjunct associate professor at Temple University teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses in college student development, gender issues and general education courses. She resides in South Philadelphia with her husband and their cat Arya. She is a Pittsburgh Steelers football fan and loves everything Disney related.
