Biography
Ziwei Xu’s research focuses on the Korean 6B4T feminist movement on social media and its connections to and differences from the Chinese feminist movement, both within and outside Chinese social media. This research takes an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating economic, historical, cultural, and political perspectives while also examining women's online self-representation and self-expression. Her goal is to compare traditional and contemporary values in China, with a particular focus on women’s lives.
Ziwei earned a Bachelor of Accounting from Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Jiangsu, China and a Master of Information Systems from The University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia. Prior to academia, Ziwei worked as a product manager at a leading internet company in China.
Ziwei has worked as a Teaching Assistant in Media Analysis and The Future of Your TV (Temple Main Campus, August 2024 – May 2025) and as an instructor of Intercultural Communication and Communication and Public Life (Temple Japan Campus, Summer 2025)
