Klein College of Media and Communication is committed to helping students achieve their academic, professional and personal goals throughout their time at Temple University. The college’s Office of Student Success is proud to announce a new student success initiative: the Engagement, Development and Growth Experiences program (Klein EDGE).
Klein EDGE is a centralized hub for experiential learning and professional development, embodying the college’s immersive approach of learning it by living it.
“By creating Klein EDGE, we are bringing together our full range of co-curricular engagement opportunities and encouraging students to visit our physical space to explore all the ways in which they can enhance their learning experience in Klein College,” said Maggie Lewis, Klein’s vice dean of student success. She noted the unique needs and aspirations of each student, all of which can be catered to with EDGE. “Rather than needing to seek out an individual staff member or resource, we invite Klein College students to come to Klein EDGE to ask, ‘What is possible?’”
Allie K. Miller, the former director of Klein Global Opportunities (Klein GO), will lead the initiative and now take on the role of director of Klein EDGE. “By being a part of this college, [students] have a dedicated team focused on their success as people and professionals,” she wrote.
The program serves as the foundation for Klein Career Services and Klein GO, where students can connect the skills they have developed in the classroom to their interests and explore their goals further.
Klein EDGE will continue to be a part of their everyday lives, from seminars for incoming students to studying away, career coaching, and a vast array of other reliable resources.
Additional program features include access to student-run organizations, the Klein Living Learning Communities (LLCs) and Klein Rising—three aspects that ensure an enjoyable experience and help craft meaningful connections with peers.
Klein College is dedicated to preparing our students to make an impact in media and communication — in Philadelphia and beyond, providing them with a competitive edge as they embark on their post-graduation journeys.
“The EDGE team prides themselves on knowing our students—their interests, their accomplishments, their worries and gives them support and resources for being the best versions of themselves,” said Miller.
Klein EDGE is located on the lower level of Annenberg Hall. Follow the floor decals to Room 007, the former Student Success Suite, to meet the team and learn more about getting a competitive edge.
