Longtime GM Paul Gluck to Continue Teaching and Serve as Advisor
Emmy Award-winning producer and communications strategist Joe Schreiber has been named the new general manager of Temple University Television (TUTV), the student-staffed station housed in the Klein College of Media and Communication.
Schreiber most recently served as a senior videographer with Temple University’s Strategic Marketing and Communications team. He brings more than four decades of experience in television production, marketing and strategic communications. In addition to producing award-winning documentaries, Schreiber spent 23 years with NBC producing The George Michael Sports Machine, the longest-running locally produced syndicated sports show in television history. He also founded a production company and led communications partnerships with PBS, ESPN and institutions such as the University of Notre Dame, University of Maryland, University of Michigan and Auburn University.
“This is more than just a professional opportunity—it’s a higher calling,” Schreiber said. “I’m honored to lead TUTV at a time when preparing students for the evolving digital media landscape is more vital than ever. We will continue to raise the bar for experiential learning and keep Klein College of Media and Communication at the forefront of media innovation.”
Schreiber earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College and recently completed a master’s in communication management at Temple.
Schreiber replaces Paul Gluck, who has served as general manager of TUTV for the past 15 years. Gluck will continue to teach at Klein and serve as an advisor to the station.
Under Gluck’s leadership, TUTV grew into one of the nation’s most award-winning student media outlets. His tenure included building partnerships with NBC10 and 6ABC/WPVI; leading more than 40 hours of live coverage of the 2017 papal visit to Philadelphia; and negotiating TUTV’s designation as a CNN affiliate, enabling students to anchor and report live during the 2016 Democratic National Convention. He also supervised student production efforts surrounding the Olympic Games in London (2012) and Paris (2024).
“The privilege and pleasure of having served as TUTV’s general manager, since we developed and launched the channel in 2010, has provided one of the most filling chapters of my professional life. The personal joy that I have experienced, while supporting a diverse legion of talented students, serving with a vast array of dedicated colleagues and working with so many exemplary media partners over that time, is beyond description.”
Klein College Dean David Boardman said: We’re pleased to welcome Joe to Klein as he brings his more than 40 years of experience in television production, marketing and strategic communications to the college. At the same time, we’re pleased that Paul will continue to be a part of the strong legacy he’s built in making TUTV one of the best student television stations in the country.”
