Temple University Television (TUTV), Klein College’s student-staffed television station, has earned national recognition at the 46th Annual Telly Awards—receiving two Silver Awards for exceptional creative work in both student and professional categories.
The winning entries include:
Established in 1979, the Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens. While originally focused on local and cable TV, the awards have grown to recognize outstanding work in digital video, branded content, immersive media and more. The competition receives thousands of entries from media organizations, advertising agencies and universities around the world.
All entries are reviewed by the Telly Awards Judging Council, a diverse group of more than 250 industry professionals from networks, agencies and studios including Marvel, BBC, Netflix and Shutterstock. New members of this year’s jury include leaders from Roku Brand Studio, MediaPro, Patreon, PlutoTV and Pickleball TV—reflecting innovation in the creator economy, emerging technology and social impact media.
This marks the second consecutive year-and the third time overall-that TUTV has been honored with a Telly, highlighting the continued impact of Klein’s hands-on media education and the collaborative work of students, faculty and professional staff.
TUTV continues to stand among an esteemed list of Telly Award winners, including Adobe, BET Networks, Bloomberg, CBS Interactive, Comcast, Discovery Communications, ESPN, HBO, HuffPost, NASA, National Geographic, NBC, Paramount, Viacom, The History Channel, The Guardian and many others across the global media landscape.
“At TUTV, we’re committed to giving students a platform to create meaningful work—and these awards show the power of their storytelling,” said Joe Schreiber, general manager of TUTV. “This recognition is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of our students and staff. We’re proud to be honored again and to see our stories resonate with audiences beyond Temple.”
Special congratulations go to the creative team behind the award-winning entries: Kevin D. Gruen, Jennifer Frevola and Micki Hernandez.
TUTV—available on Comcast channel 50, Verizon channel 45 in Philadelphia, and now streaming on Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV—serves as a training ground for aspiring media professionals, offering students real-world experience in news, production, promotion and storytelling.
