The Steinman Foundation Scholarship in Journalism is a two-fold scholarship, with one award designated for incoming undergraduates and another for incoming Master of Journalism students. In order to be eligible to apply for the Steinman scholarship, students must display a high degree of academic achievement, financial need, and above all, an interest in both business and journalism. Details for each scholarship can be found below.
Steinman Foundation Scholarship in Journalism for Undergraduate Students
The undergraduate portion of the Steinman Scholarship is a scholarship for incoming freshmen and rising sophomores. It is awarded to one high-achieving student with demonstrated financial need who is either pursuing a double major in journalism and business, economics or finance; or a major in journalism and a business, economics or finance minor. The scholarship is for $5,000 to be applied toward tuition and renews each year for four years.
Steinman Foundation Scholarship in Journalism for Graduate Students
For graduate students, the Steinman Scholarship awardees receive $20,000 to be applied toward the tuition to the Master of Journalism program at Klein. The awardee should have a demonstrated business background with a desire to pursue journalism at the graduate level, and plan on entering the world of business journalism — or journalism business — as a career. Recipients of this scholarship will also be high-performing students with demonstrated financial need.
