Cindy Fang is currently a PhD student in media and communication at Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University. She graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a MA in advertising. Her primary research interests are at the intersection of experiential advertising and the convergence of presence and communication technologies. She is also interested in intercultural communication, especially media representation, identity awareness and struggles among ethnic minority groups in mainland China and abroad. Cindy has presented her intercultural communication paper, “An Assessment of the Differences in US & Chinese Business Writing Styles” at the 18th SIETAR USA National Conference. 

Prior to pursuing her doctorate at Temple, she worked as a junior interactive designer in an advertising agency, Leap Creative, and she has produced independent creative work out of her own studio since 2016. She has also worked as a translator in the localization department of a global technology company, VMware, and contracted for law firms, for reviewing litigation translations for their international clients.
