Describe your current occupation and if applicable, how was Temple the launchpad for your current position?

Oversee a team of 6 professional staff members and 150 student ambassadors to plan and execute over 300 admissions events and visits, which result in 50,000 visitors annually to Drexel University by prospective students and their guests.

While a student at Temple, I worked in a variety of administrative offices (Bursar, Study Away, and Housing) that impacted my decision to pursue a career in higher education. In addition, my communications degree prepared me to effectively and strategically create event marketing and communication plans that have made me successful and valuable in my current role.

Why do you support Temple University and serve on the Klein Alumni Association Board?

To pay forward the time, energy, creativity, and financial support that Klein afforded me throughout my undergraduate experience. Klein played a pivotal role in my success as a Temple student and beyond – through mentorship within the Communications major; flexible opportunities to do research, double major in history, and study abroad; and many scholarship awards, I was able to make the most of my college years, which led me to my current career in higher education. Klein was my home and I could not imagine not being involved, especially during this exciting time where the College is growing and developing so rapidly – I want to make an impact for future Klein students and alumni.

What excites you about the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication?

See above response, and also the impressive faculty and Dean Boardman’s leadership are key catalysts for growth within the College. I also cannot forget the impact Lew Klein has on the college and on me as a former Lew Klein Scholarship awardee – Lew excites and impassions everyone!

What advice could you give someone looking to become more engaged with Klein College?

Identify the areas you either loved or found very challenging as a Temple student – those are both motivational factors to get involved as an alumni and create positive change for the future of Temple and Klein.

The continued success of the College only increases the value of our degrees so if you like the idea of mentoring a Klein student or helping to plan alumni events, consider joining one of our committees to make those opportunities the best they can be.

What was your favorite memory while a student at Temple?

Studying abroad in London during the 2008 Presidential Election – we were assigned to interview Londoners about their take on the election from an international perspective as part of our coursework. It was a fascinating study into how the gigantic world outside the U.S. cares and sees the American political system; their deep appreciation for democracy was eye opening and inspiring, especially to a college student who was voting in a presidential election for the first time.
