Biography

Minsoo Lee examines how media, memory, and cultural identity intersect in post-conflict and transnational contexts. Her dissertation explores how the Bophana Center in Cambodia uses documentary filmmaking and archival practices to preserve cultural identity and engage with historical representation. She also researches the mediated experiences of marriage migrants in Korea, drawing from both ethnographic and textual methods. Her work reflects a broader interest in the challenges of conducting qualitative media research in non-Western settings.

Her research has been presented at conferences such as ICA, IAMCR, and CSA, and supported by the Doctoral Dissertation Completion Grant and the Laura Levitt Research Award. Minsoo has taught and supported courses in public speaking, intercultural communication, media studies, and academic writing at Temple University and the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

She holds an M.A. in Anthropology from The New School for Social Research, an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Kangwon National University, and a B.A. in Communication and Journalism from Kookmin University.
