Yusra is a PhD student at the Klein College of Media and Communication. Her research focuses on media influence and its intersection with gender, nationalism, and identity within the Saudi context in times of transformation and modernity. Before joining Klein College, Yusra served as a teaching assistant in the Communication and Media Department at King Khalid University, where she taught Introduction to Mass Communication courses. Drawing from both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, Yusra's interdisciplinary research explores how people's media engagement shapes their beliefs regarding identity and gender as Saudi society navigates rapid social change and modernization.

She holds a Master's degree in Mass Communication from Arkansas State University. Her recent conference presentations include "Voice Engagement among Minorities: How Arabs Use Twitter Spaces for Religious Decision-Making" (2023) at the International Communication Association conference and "Gender Disparities in Digital Media Use through the Lens of Gender Regime Theory in the Middle East" (2024) at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Annual Conference.

Her goal is to expand knowledge about how media shapes perspectives across Arab nations, particularly by examining the unique media landscape of Saudi Arabia.
