Biography

William Cook is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Advertising & Public Relations. He teaches a variety of courses including Advertising & Globalization, Introduction to Media & Society, Copywriting for Print & Web, Advanced Writing for Academic & Professional Communication, and more. Professor Cook also serves as the Assistant Chair of Advertising & Public Relations, is the current Chair of Klein Faculty Council, and is a member of the General Education Executive Committee.

Before joining the department as a full-time faculty member, Professor Cook worked in advertising, public relations and event planning in Philadelphia and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. During that time, he focused on account services and copywriting, representing residential and commercial building product manufacturers including Architectural Surfaces Group (ASG), Armstrong Flooring, CertainTeed Ceilings, CertainTeed Corporate, CertainTeed Gypsum, CertainTeed Roofing, CornellCookson, GKD, INSTALL, Kohler, New Leaf Performance Veneers, Polycor, Starnet, ShurTech Brands (Duck, T-Rex, FrogTape, Painter’s Mate, and Shurtape), Thompson Traders, Tulikivi, United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC), Vetrazzo, WakaNINE, Wilsonart, Wood Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry. He also served as an adjunct professor at Temple University from 2010-2014.

Although Professor Cook was briefly a “Nittany Lion” when he attended Penn State University for his master’s degree in communications, he is a Temple Owl at heart. He completed his undergraduate degrees in Advertising and German language studies along with a minor in Business Administration at Temple University.
