The graduating class of Temple University advertising and public relations majors will have the opportunity to demonstrate their creative, professional and educational materials to industry leaders and employers through the virtual 2020 Senior Showcase on Friday, May 8. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Temple University’s activities have moved online, and the virtual showcase enables an even wider audience to view student work than before.
The annual tradition has been adapted so students can upload personalized URLs linking their curated portfolios, writing samples, and more on the Temple Senior Showcase website, which will be live for employers to view and remain live indefinitely.
“This graduating class is truly resilient in the way their skills and creative spirit lift up one another,” said Chair of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations, Dana Saewitz. “They deserve this showcase as their hard work and dedication should be on display for employers to see.”
Students from all tracks can design a personalized website featuring resumes, case studies, any other relevant projects and materials, or their LinkedIn page to feature their work.
“Despite these uncertain times, Temple’s advertising and public relations graduates remain eager to enter the workforce,” said Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations, LiRon Anderson-Bell. “The virtual version of the showcase has the potential to benefit the seniors even more than the traditional in-person event.”
The Senior Showcase is a special opportunity for employers to meet this group of talented young professionals, and a time for the graduating class of Temple University advertising and public relations majors to commemorate their hard-earned accomplishments, professional achievements, academic successes and the perseverance required to maneuver through this moment of adversity.
