A Proactive Approach to Student Advising
After reviewing various models of academic advising both within Temple University and at higher education institutions across the United States, Klein’s Office of Academic Advising implemented an official caseload model in 2021. Students are assigned a specific academic advisor who remains with them throughout the academic journey at Klein, from freshman year through graduation.
With this model, students:
- have the opportunity to build a stable and consistent relationship with an advisor.
- get a personalized approach as the assigned advisor will become familiar with the student’s individual coursework, activities and preferences.
- have a clear line of communication between student and advisor
Klein students can make an appointment with their assigned advisor. For official advising appointments, including Fly in 4 checkpoints, Klein requires that students meet with their assigned advisor to ensure continuity of advisement and academic progress.
