Major: Communication and Social Influence
Exp. Graduation Date: December 2019

Hey future Owl! My name is Kat and I can't wait to meet you! Temple was everything I was looking for in a university: a diverse student body on a campus bursting with opportunities in a city where I could challenge myself to learn more both in and out of the classroom. I'm originally from Massachusetts, but I've come to love everything about Philly (even an Eagles game) in the past few years. I sincerely believe that choosing Klein College was the best choice I ever made! Our students are so open, accepting, and ambitious and our professors are always ready to offer any advice. Klein will push you to learn more about yourself, get involved, and understand the world around you in your time here.

Tara Doll
Major: Journalism
Exp. Graduation Date: May 2021

Hello everyone! My name is Tara Doll and I am a writer for TheTemple News. I am a Philadelphia native and a proud Temple Owl! Choosing Temple was an easy decision for me once I attended my first open house in fall 2016. I learned so much from all of the student ambassadors and professors in Klein College, and I knew I wanted to make Temple my new home for the next four years. Temple’s campus is a quick subway ride into Center City, which is bursting with culture, life, and so many job opportunities in Philadelphia’s huge media market. The journalism program in Klein is excellent and gives you plenty of hands- on, real-life field experience in all different aspects of the media industry. Through the journalism program and its courses, you are molded into an experienced, versatile journalist in areas such as writing, photography, videography, design, and more. I can’t wait to meet all of you future Owls and see what you will make out of your years at Temple University!

Hi there! My name is Imyah Sommerville, or Myah for short, and I’m a transfer student here at Klein College. Before attending Temple, I spent the past two years at the Community College of Philadelphia where I graduated with an Associate of Arts in Communication Studies. My first visits to Klein and interactions with faculty members were outstanding. I was able to decide on a major in Advertising easily thanks to all the insightful information everyone provided. I truly feel at home here at Klein College as a transfer because of the incredible support I’ve continuously received from day one. I’m super excited to be an Ambassador for Klein College so I can share more of my story and hear all of yours! Just like me, I know you’ll find your unique place here at Klein and Temple as a whole!

Niccolas Uff
Major: Media Studies and Production
Exp. Graduation May 2022
nic.uff@temple.edu

Hey there! My name is Niccolas Uff (Nic) and I am a sophomore Media Studies and Production major at Klein College! I chose Temple because of the endless amount of opportunities made available to me, even when I came here as a first-year student. I have had a passion for media production since before I can remember, and I love how Klein College allows me to explore media more and more every day. Besides being a Klein student ambassador, I am a producer for the student-Emmy award winning live newscast, Temple Update. As a producer, I have the opportunity to have a part in almost all aspects of production. Some of these aspects include writing scripts for anchors, assigning reporters to cover stories, reaching out to high level officials like the mayor for press inquiries, and even assigning live-shot locations for our live broadcasts. In addition to this, I am a Klein technical operations studio worker, where I assist in overseeing studio operations with classes and television show tapings. In the summer, I will be interning with CBS News Washington, assisting with shows such as the “CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell” and “Face the Nation.” If you have any questions about Temple Update, internships, or anything about Klein, please feel free to reach out to me with the email above. I am extremely proud of the things we do at Klein and I know you will find a home here like I did. I will forever be proud to say that I am a Temple Owl!
