About

Innovation is Our Tradition

Klein College’s rich history is inseparable from the history of media in Philadelphia. Since our inception in 1927 to our expansion to the School of Communications and Theater in 1967 to our recent renaming in 2017, we have evolved alongside the medium and continue to set the standard for what media and communication can achieve and become.

Our Mission

The Klein College of Media and Communication generates knowledge and educates students to be ethical, analytical and creative leaders in a multimedia and multicultural society.

Live From North Philadelphia

Klein College prepares the leaders of tomorrow for professional careers as well as scholarly pursuits within the evolving digital revolution. Our approach is dynamic—we combine academic rigor with real-world experience and training.

Our learning laboratory is Philadelphia, the fourth-largest media market in the country. Our professors are experts in their field and showcase a diversity of identities, experience and professional pursuits as well as enormous talent and skill. Our students are curious and engage deeply with media and communication. It is because of the variety and depth of their passions and values that we are a truly unique environment.

Experience, live and learn the world of media and communication at Klein College. Explore what we have to offer from our hands-on learning to our award-winning student-run media and everything in between.

Partly because of its location in North Philadelphia, Temple attracts a certain type of person—people who are motivated and open to building relationships that are beneficial to all parties.
